Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC)
Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) works to strengthen the ability of the Canadian electricity industry to meet current and future needs of its workforce. The electricity industry is rapidly changing. The emergence of new technology, electrification of sectors of the economy that have not previously been electric, and decarbonization more generally are resulting in a need to attract skilled people to the industry in numbers that the sector has not previously needed to. Canada is embarking on a nation-building exercise unlike any in recent history – and Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) is on the front line of labour market intelligence and workforce planning. EHRC conducts comprehensive labour market intelligence (LMI) to understand where there are emerging employment gaps in the industry, and emerging new roles. That data is then translated to actionable programs to encourage more diverse hiring and retention, appealing to more youth audiences and ensuring succession planning, change management and knowledge transfer is occurring grounded in best-practices across the industry. If it involves working with people in the sector – EHRC is there.

The Energy Efficiency and Management Association (EYODER) is a non-governmental organization that has been operating since its establishment in 2010 with the aim of promoting energy efficiency and enhancing the capacity of individuals and organizations involved in this field. Georgina Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Tanzania. The foundation was inspired by the dream of a young girl named Georgina, whose passion for reading and environmental stewardship led to the organization’s creation. Honour the Work is a Canadian initiative born from a recognized need to address the growing labour shortage in the skilled trades. Founded in 2020, it aims to be a comprehensive platform connecting Canadians with the information and resources they need to explore and pursue rewarding careers in the trades. Recognizing that career aspirations often begin in childhood, Honour the Work provides engaging STEAM-focused programs and resources for elementary schools, sparking curiosity and showcasing the intellectual and physical challenges that trade careers offer.
Beyond simply promoting awareness, Honour the Work actively works to dismantle common misconceptions about who pursues the trades, why they do it, and the skills involved. By providing a "one-stop shop" hub of information, they strive to break down barriers to apprenticeship and inspire a new generation to value craftsmanship and recognize the vital contributions of skilled tradespeople in building our communities.
