Her passion for renewable energy, coupled with her educational background, led Abena to her current position as Project Manager at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana. In this role, she oversees various projects aimed at promoting and implementing renewable energy solutions in the country. Abena's expertise in energy modeling and informatics plays a vital role in developing effective strategies and policies for Ghana's energy sector.
Prior to her current role, Abena worked at the Ministry of Energy in Ghana, where she held a pivotal position for several years. During her time at the ministry, she played a crucial role in implementing and monitoring government-led renewable energy projects. Her contributions to these projects were instrumental in driving Ghana's transition towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly energy system.
Abena's commitment to sustainable energy extends beyond her professional endeavors. She is also the leader of the West African chapter of Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in the renewable energy sector. In this capacity, Abena focuses on strengthening the chapter's presence, conducting research, and coordinating events that promote gender equality and women's leadership in renewable energy
