Akinyi Chemutai is a strategic and analytical Professional with extensive experience coordinating technical and financial aspects of programs and projects in climate resilience, climate technology and landscape restoration. She has worked for grant-funded projects in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and India. Where she has managed and provided visibility on grant and development efforts across all levels, to improve opportunities for Pay Go solar and clean cookstoves through effective funding programs that range from $150,000 to $2,500,000 with donors such as USAID Power Africa, AfDB, Ford Foundation, SNV, World Bank, NEFCO-BGFA and SwedFund. She has implemented GESI and ESS standards as grant reporting requirements and conditions precedents.
Her unwavering commitment lies in educating and empowering youth and women to amplify their work and assist them to access financial resources. She is currently the East Africa Lead for Women in Renewable Energy.
