Muriel Cookey works as a corporate strategist with the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources and Renewables and supports efforts to develop clean energy resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, create jobs, and transition to a low-carbon economy. She has a strong background in providing policy, legal and regulatory support for the development of renewable energy policies and regulations, and extensive experience working with regulators, utilities, developers, consultants, and financiers, to facilitate the development of renewable energy projects and renewable energy integration. She has a Master’s degree in Oil, Gas and Mining Law and a Bachelor’s degree in Law with Business. By supporting WiRE's initiatives and mission, she hopes to support efforts in empowering women in the energy sector.
