The WiRE organization is currently seeking volunteers for its award committee to help with the successful execution and operation of various award and recognition initiatives for both WiRE and its partners. As a member of the WiRE Award Committee, you will work with other dedicated volunteers and committee members, with the support of WiRE's Operations Director and Board of Directors.


In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating initiatives to recognize women and organizations who contribute to the clean energy field and help close the gender gap. 

When you join our growing team, you will:

  • Work collaboratively with the committee to manage WiRE's awards and recognition initiatives.

  • Participate in scheduled meetings with committee members and partner organizations.

  • Coordinate the adjudication process with judges, partner organizations, and committee members.

  • Draft necessary documents such as proposals and work orders.

  • Assess the success of our award committee and articulate findings to the WiRE Board of Directors and Advisory Committee.

  • Continue the ongoing development of awards best practices.

  • Think of creative ways for WiRE to engage with the energy industry through different awards and recognition activities.

Who will you be reporting to:

  • Operations Director and Advisory Committee

  • Working closely with all members of the WiRE Awards Committee



Volunteer Requirements:

A willingness to learn. You must have a high aptitude for using marketing automation platforms and email marketing services such as MailChimp or Drip. Experience is not required, however it is definitely beneficial.


Good time management. You must possess the ability to write and edit on a deadline. The WIRE newsletter is one of the premier ways in which we communicate, and we need someone who is prompt and punctual.


Great communication skills. You will be engaging with our stakeholders mainly through email, and possibly at some in-person events if you choose to attend. Being able to communicate respectfully and intelligently is obligatory.

Hours:

We anticipate this volunteer position to require a minimum 6 to 12 hours per month, varying from month to month.
