Dr. Fahimeh Kazempour
Dr. Fahimeh Kazempour, Ph.D., P.Eng., is Director of Distribution System Operator (DSO) at Hydro One, where she leads the strategic transformation of Ontario’s distribution system to enable a more flexible, customer-centric, and decarbonized energy future.
Her portfolio includes energy transition strategy, distributed energy resource (DER) enablement, DSO development, customer strategy, regulatory and policy advocacy, and innovative approaches to unlocking customer flexibility through virtual power plants and local flexibility markets.
With more than a decade of experience in the utility sector, Dr. Kazempour is a recognized leader in grid modernization, DER integration, and utility innovation. Prior to Hydro One, she held leadership roles at Wood Mackenzie and Alectra Utilities.
She holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering (Energy Systems) from the University of Toronto, where her research focused on the modeling and control of virtual power plants.
