WiRE Community Chat Guidelines
Welcome to the Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) WhatsApp group! We are thrilled to have you. This is a space for networking, sharing knowledge, and empowering one another within the sector. We’re happy to have you here!
To keep this group valuable for everyone, please follow these community standards:
1. Stay On-Mission
Keep discussions focused on energy, sustainability, professional development, and WiRE-related initiatives. While we love a good celebration, please save general "viral" content or off-topic memes for other platforms.
2. No "Hard Selling" or Spam
This is a community, not a marketplace.
Do: Share relevant industry events, job openings, or insightful articles.
Don't: Repeatedly promote your own products/services or send unsolicited "cold" messages to members.
3. Respect the "Quiet Hours"
We are a global community, but try to be mindful of time zones. Avoid posting late at night or very early in the morning when possible to minimize "notification fatigue." Pro-Tip: If the notifications become overwhelming, don’t leave! Feel free to Mute the chat and check in whenever you have the capacity.
4. Kindness and Professionalism
Treat every member with respect. We foster an environment of radical support—discriminatory language, harassment, or aggressive debating will lead to immediate removal.
5. Privacy is Paramount
What happens in WiRE stays in WiRE. Please do not share members' contact information or private conversations outside of this group without explicit permission.
6. Use the "Reply" and "Thread" Features
To keep the chat organized, use the Reply function (swipe right on a message) to respond to specific questions. This helps everyone follow the conversation without getting lost in the scroll.
