WiRE Volunteer Makes Key Connections at Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce Event

Shraddha Nair, a volunteer with the Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) Europe West UK Chapter, recently attended a valuable networking event hosted by WiRE's partner, the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce. The event, held at Gerry's Hot Subs, a Canadian-owned establishment in the UK, brought together professionals from a variety of sectors. Chamber representatives Nigel, Isabel, and Charlie organized the gathering.

For Shraddha, the evening provided an excellent opportunity to connect with a diverse group of industry leaders. She engaged in insightful conversations with corporate lawyers from GSK, the founder of Meta-Morphix (a company specializing in introducing Fintech companies to the global market), delegates from financial and asset management firms, and even the Director of Culture at Quebec House.

Guests enjoyed a selection of refreshments and food, with the undeniable highlight being poutine, the iconic French-Canadian dish. Gerry's signature subs, available in both meat and vegetarian options, also proved popular.

The event fostered meaningful discussions about the energy landscape in the Americas and Europe. Shraddha shared information about WiRE's mission and initiatives, sparking interest and garnering praise from numerous attendees. Making several promising connections for the WiRE UK Chapter, Shraddha is optimistic about future collaborations.

WiRE extends its sincere thanks to the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce and the staff at Gerry's Hot Subs for their hospitality and partnership. We look forward to future events and continued collaboration.
