WiRE and SWE’s First Collaboration!
On February 22, 2025, Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Toronto hosted their first collaborative event, bringing together passionate women engineers and allies for an afternoon of mentorship, networking, and insightful conversations. The coffee chat featured two exceptional sustainability experts—Jasmine Lyn and Versha Rangaswamy, both members of WiRE’s advisory committee—who shared their valuable experiences and lessons learned throughout their careers.
The discussion covered a wide range of topics, including navigating workplace biases, seeking mentorship opportunities, and building successful careers as young professionals. With attendees representing various sectors within the clean tech industry, the event provided a unique opportunity to explore different career pathways and gain a deeper understanding of how their work collectively contributes to creating a more sustainable future.
Set in the warm and welcoming atmosphere of a cozy café, the event encouraged authentic connections and candid exchanges. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of community and collaboration in driving progress toward a greener, more inclusive world. Looking forward to many more innovative and successful events with SWE Toronto!
