Pay: $30,000 - $35,000 per year based on experience

Organization Overview

The Canadian Women's Chamber of Commerce ( CanWCC ) is a nationally incorporated, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to advocacy, advancement, and connection for and on behalf of its members. CanWCC's membership consists of diverse women-identified entrepreneurs and businesses that are at least 50% woman(en)-owned and led.

CanWCC focuses on three key interwoven activities to support its members:

  1. Connection -​ through the development of a national network of women entrepreneurs, business owners, and the organizations that serve them.

  2. Advocacy​ - on behalf of members, informed by members and supported by the national network.

  3. Advancement​ - at both the micro- and macro-level, facilitating economic opportunities for women business owners and building a stronger Canadian economy.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Cohort Manager is responsible for managing a group of participants, also known as a cohort, in the CanWCC's grant-funded program, Flip The Script (FTS). The Cohort Manager will work closely with Vice President, Advocacy & Impact and program staff to provide support and guidance to cohort members, monitor their progress, and ensure that they have a positive experience in the program. The successful candidate will be able to build relationships with cohort members and create a supportive and engaging environment for them. This role will also work closely with the CanWCC Program Manager to support required activities with CanWCC members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a cohort of 1200 participants in the Flip The Script (FTS) program (600 members per cohort).

  • Provide guidance and support to cohort members throughout the program.

  • Connect the cohort members to the greater CanWCC membership community.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with cohort members to create a supportive and engaging environment.

  • Monitor cohort members' progress and provide feedback to program staff.

  • Ensure that cohort members are meeting program requirements and goals.

  • Facilitate group meetings and activities for the cohort.

  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and implement strategies to support cohort members' success.

  • Provide regular updates on cohort progress to program staff and other stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records of cohort members' progress and program activities.

  • Ensure that all program activities are in compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or education.

Core Competency Requirements

  • Comfortable using computer applications, including:

  • Google: GMail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Chat

  • Asana (intermediate skill)

  • Miro (advanced skill)

  • Zoom (intermediate skill)

  • Circle (basic skill)

  • Keap (basic skill)

  • Smith.ai (basic skill)

  • Able to learn new applications quickly

  • Professional, reliable, courteous, and discreet

  • Experience in program management, preferably in a not-for-profit context.

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience working with diverse groups of people, including those from different backgrounds and cultures.

  • Knowledge of best practices for cohort management.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with program evaluation methods and tools.
