ASSET MANAGEMENT ANALYST

PURPOSE 

Conducts business and financial analysis and carries out tasks to support the delivery of asset management services for a portfolio of generation facilities, with a focus on renewable natural gas generation, and the Renewable Energy Group business as a whole. Areas of focus include contract analysis and compliance monitoring, business and financial analysis, process/procedure development and mapping, tax equity reporting, and other commercial tasks as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Conduct holistic business analyses including building models, analyzing operational and financial business performance, and identifying and implementing efficiency improvements

  • Identify and track operational, financial, and investment metrics (e.g. IRR, ROI, ROA, EPS, etc.) to assess business performance, and develop and present recommendations to management

  • Analyze monthly financial reports for trends and coordinate with FP&A and Accounting to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting

  • Support with the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts including calculating and tracking HLBV income for generating assets with tax equity partners

  • Prepare timely and accurate analyses and reports (standard and ad-hoc) in support of asset decisions (e.g. divesting, reinvesting, decommissioning)

  • Prepare well-written summary of contractual terms for each key agreement related to asset and identify key contractual terms requiring compliance monitoring and identify compliance mechanisms

  • Monitor all conditions required for compliance by both the Owner and the counterparty

  • Prepare and/or coordinate timely reporting to satisfy compliance requirements

  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of operations and technical service providers

  • Engage in internal and external stakeholder communications under the direction of Manager and Specialists

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • University – Bachelor degree or equivalent

  • 1-3 years’ experience

  • Experience in business analysis

  • Experience in contract analysis and management

  • Proficient in the use of analytical tools

  • Renewable energy (Wind/Solar/Hydro/Renewable Natural Gas) experience is an asset

  • Background in Engineering. Business, or Finance is an asset
