Buyer and Project Coordinator

The role of the Buyer & Project Coordinator requires a processed oriented individual with strong attention to detail. This position is involved in critical procurement processes and decisions, including managing vendor relationships and pricing. This position involves problem solving, troubleshooting and quick decision making related to responding to on-site deliveries and requirements from the construction team. Lastly, this role involves managing the administration of items related to project execution.



A Day In The Life

    • Manage Request for Quote (RFQs) for project Bill of Materials (BOMs), including managing material requests from the field

    • Maintain current and up to date knowledge of products and top vendors

    • Check incoming quotes for accuracy and request corrections as required

    • Check incoming quotes for price competitiveness; Compare against other vendors; Compare against historical purchasing history

    • Negotiate pricing where required and provide price feedback to vendors

    • Database pricing updates

    • Check RESCo stock levels with vendors

    • Track vendor Customer Purchase Agreements (CPAs)

    • Create purchase orders and follow-up on back-order items

    • Coordinate with Flynn receiving for incoming deliveries & outbound path (communicate with field)

    • Respond to field material requests from projects under construction or service critical issues urgently & creatively as required

    • Coordinate long haul and short haul shipping as required

    • Receive packing slips from the field, confirm accuracy and process invoices in Perceptive Content

    • Complete material takeoffs via Accubid



What We Are Seeking

    • Proficiency with MS Office suite and ability to learn new software is required (Outlook, Word, Excel (beginning to intermediate))

    • Previous experience working in the electrical industry is considered an asset

    • Previous experience and knowledge of construction and/or solar PV is considered an asset

    • Must have the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment

    • Must have a strong attention to detail and proven organizational skills

    • Must be a team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
