Ayah brings over eight years of experience spanning sustainability, the built environment, and professional associations. Her work focuses on advancing energy efficiency, sustainable buildings, and capacity-building initiatives across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, with emphasis on translating international standards and policy frameworks into practical, regional action. With a strong interest in renewable energy and sustainable development, she is currently pursuing her Master’s in Sustainable Development at the University of Sussex and was chosen from over 10,000 applicants worldwide to serve as a Youth Delegate at the 2026 IRENA Youth Forum and 16th Session of the IRENA Assembly. In her role with ASHRAE, she led and coordinated programs that have reached over 10 countries and 15 cities, strengthening local institutional capacity, supporting regional stakeholders and governments in the adoption of international sustainability standards, and contributing to policy-relevant discussions for the built environment sector. Her experience includes stakeholder coordination, partnership development, and the delivery of scalable professional-development initiatives that support energy-efficient and low-carbon building practices.
