Dr. Rahaf Ajaj is an accomplished researcher and educator with over 15 years of experience in radiation safety, environmental sciences, and occupational health and safety. Dr. Ajaj is currently an Assistant Professor at Abu Dhabi University's College of Health Science. She teaches courses in environmental health and safety, hazardous materials, occupational safety and health, and environmental sciences. Her research interests include radiation generators, radioactive sources, hazardous materials, occupational health and safety, and environmental sciences.
Dr. Ajaj has authored over 20 publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Sustainability, Frontiers in Plant Science, and Physical Review Letters. She has also presented her research at prestigious conferences worldwide. Previously, Dr. Ajaj worked as a Health Physicist at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation in the UAE. She conducted regulatory inspections, implemented radiation protection procedures, and assessed license applications for radioactive materials. She also held roles in academia and industry over her career. Dr. Ajaj actively volunteers in leadership positions for organizations like Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) and the Canadian Association of Postdoctoral Scholars. She is dedicated to advancing women in renewable energy and supporting international postdoctoral scholars. With her robust research background and commitment to teaching, Dr. Ajaj is an asset to Abu Dhabi University. Her expertise in environmental health and safety enriches the institution and prepares students for impactful careers.
