Dr. Rahaf Ajaj is a distinguished academic leader who currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Environmental and Public Health at Abu Dhabi University's College of Health Sciences. With over 15 years of experience in radiation safety, environmental sciences, and occupational health and safety, she has established herself as a leading expert in her field. As a Chartered Scientist (CSci), Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), Health Physicist, NEBOSH IGC certified professional, and Certified Sustainability Officer, Dr. Ajaj brings a wealth of knowledge and credentials to her leadership role.
Beyond her academic leadership, Dr. Ajaj serves on the United Nations High-Level Advisory Board, where she works alongside global experts to drive impactful change in sustainable food systems. In this prestigious role, she provides thought leadership on sustainability practices, guides UN initiatives through strategic advocacy, and participates in key briefings and public events led by the UN Deputy Secretary-General to maintain momentum toward global food security.
Additionally, as the Research Cluster Leader for Climate Change and Public Health at the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, she delivers research outputs aligned with cluster priorities, facilitates collaboration among researchers, and pioneers innovative research approaches.
