WiRE Edmonton Networking Meet-Up - THE FUTURE OF BIOENERGY IN CANADA - ft. Sarah Stadnyk and Jennifer Buss

WILL CANADA BECOME A LEADER IN BIOENERGY?

Join us as we explore the Future of Bioenergy in Canada with Sarah Stadnyk and Jennifer Buss.

Power generation from biomass is the creation of power from organic material such as solid wood or wood residues, agricultural crop residues, aquatic plants, animal wastes, and dedicated energy crops including tree farms. As of 2014, Canada had approximately 70 biomass generating power plants with total installed capacity of 2 408 MW, which amounted to approximately 1.9% of Canada's total power generation. Globally, bioenergy accounts for approximately 2% of all energy production. Having a vast supply of biomass resources, Canada is poised to become a bioenergy powerhouse.

WiRE Edmonton is excited to host this virtual event, where we will explore the current and future landscape of bioenergy in Canada!
