The Canadian Women's Chamber of Commerce (CanWCC) is a nationally incorporated, not-for-profit organization, dedicated to advocacy, advancement, and connection for and on behalf of its members. CanWCC's membership consists of women-identified entrepreneurs and businesses that are at least 50% woman(en)-owned and led.


CanWCC focuses on three key interwoven activities to support its members:

  1. Connection -​ through the development of a national network of women entrepreneurs, business owners, and the organizations that serve them.

  2. Advocacy​ - on behalf of members, informed by members and supported by the national network.

  3. Advancement​ - at both the micro- and macro-level, facilitating economic opportunities for women business owners and building a stronger Canadian economy.

About the Role

The Research Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support CanWCC's research, grant-funded projects, and evaluation efforts.

The Research Analyst will work closely with the Vice President, Advocacy & Impact and other team members to develop and implement research plans, identify data sources, and analyze data to provide insights into the organization's programs, operations, and impact.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate complex research findings in clear and concise reports and presentations.


Salary, Details & Benefits

Hours of Work: FT, 40 hours per week

Place of Work: Remote / virtual, some in-person meetings are preferable (depending on the location of the successful applicant)

Pay Range: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct research studies using a variety of data sources, including surveys, focus groups, and secondary data sources.

  • Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.

  • Collaborate with program staff to develop research plans that align with the organization's mission and goals, and the goals of grant-funded projects.

  • Develop research instruments, such as surveys and interview protocols.

  • Collect and manage data using statistical software and database management tools.

  • Prepare written reports and presentations summarizing research findings and recommendations.

  • Communicate research findings to internal and external stakeholders, including funders, partners, and program staff.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of program evaluation plans.

  • Monitor program performance using data and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards for research and data management.


Desired Skills & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in research and data analysis, considering a not-for-profit context.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social sciences, statistics, or data analytics.


Core Competency Requirements to be successful in this role, candidates must have the following assets:

  • Comfortable using computer applications, including:

  • Google: GMail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Drive, Meet, Chat

  • Asana (basic skill)

  • Meet Edgar (intermediate skill)

  • Miro (basic skill)

  • Zoom (intermediate skill)

  • Canva (intermediate skill)

  • Circle (basic skill)

  • Keap (basic skill)

  • Wordpress (basic skill)

  • YouTube Studio (basic skill)

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to research and analyze policy issues and legislative developments, and interpret complex data sets.

  • Demonstrated experience with statistical software and database management tools.

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate research findings and complex policy issues and impact findings to a variety of audiences.

  • Experience with survey design and implementation.

  • Knowledge of research and data management best practices.

  • Familiarity with program evaluation methods and tools.

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Bilingual (English & French) is an asset
