EDAMA Energy, Water & Environment
EDAMA in Arabic means “sustainability”. EDAMA Association is a Jordanian NGO established in 2009. As a Business Association, we are here to cultivate an environment where innovative solutions for energy and water independence and environmental conservation emerge. Advancing Jordan’s movement towards a green economy is an ambitious and priority goal. To be achieved, we need robust knowledge hubs, multi- stakeholder dialogue avenues, and private sector mobilization. EDAMA’s niche is in providing a platform agile and inclusive enough to involve a large number of public, private and NGO sector representatives. These key players together discuss and shape the future development of the Energy, water, and Environment (EWE) sectors in Jordan.
EDP Renewables
Our sustainable future is dependent on solid development efforts. EDPR’s teams of highly experienced and qualified developers start by locating a site with quality renewable resource, either wind or solar, with nearby electricity transmission lines. After partnering with landowners or municipalities, the critical process of measuring the wind begins. Data collection can last for several years.
EDPR’s goal is to be a reference in the industry for building the most cost competitive, safe and efficient wind farms and solar plants. Our Procurement, Engineering and Construction teams are well equipped to select the best wind turbines and solar panel systems based on each project’s specifics. We also use in-house expertise to design the bestsites, and assure top-class engineering and construction standards.
As an owner and operator, EDPR is committed to maintaining long-term operations of our projects for the benefit of our shareholders and stakeholders while always keeping our environmental impact to a minimum. Our wind farms have a long-term projected life span; thus, it is critical to our longevity that we focus on maintaining the highest levels of availability, through regularly scheduled maintenance programs and performance improvement initiatives, while minimizing the associated costs through our strong O&M strategy.

Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC)
Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) works to strengthen the ability of the Canadian electricity industry to meet current and future needs of its workforce. The electricity industry is rapidly changing. The emergence of new technology, electrification of sectors of the economy that have not previously been electric, and decarbonization more generally are resulting in a need to attract skilled people to the industry in numbers that the sector has not previously needed to. Canada is embarking on a nation-building exercise unlike any in recent history – and Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) is on the front line of labour market intelligence and workforce planning. EHRC conducts comprehensive labour market intelligence (LMI) to understand where there are emerging employment gaps in the industry, and emerging new roles. That data is then translated to actionable programs to encourage more diverse hiring and retention, appealing to more youth audiences and ensuring succession planning, change management and knowledge transfer is occurring grounded in best-practices across the industry. If it involves working with people in the sector – EHRC is there.
