With a 20-year career as a leader in on-site management in the event rental industry, Andrew Osawe provides the robust operational backbone for Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) as its Director of Operations.
Andrew's value proposition lies in his unique, hybrid skill set: elite operational management expertise fortified by a passion for teaching himself new things and always upskilling in things like business management and computer programming. This technical foundation allows him to provide comprehensive, cutting-edge support across WiRE’s global network, from chapter leaders and committees to sponsors and key partners.
Since WiRE's beginnings, Andrew has been a critical, behind-the-scenes force. His early contributions spanned website and email management, evolving to include managing the organization’s CRM and onboarding volunteers during the 2017 international expansion. Since moving to the role full-time in 2023, he contributes to high-level strategy and spearheads international expansion plans in collaboration with advisory committees.
His creativity and operational acumen have directly driven substantial advancements in programs fostering pathways to employment and social integration. Most notably, Andrew conducts the extensive, country-specific research into nonprofit law, culture, and energy challenges necessary for WiRE to effectively contribute to global policy discussions and advocate for gender equality in renewable energy worldwide.
