Ariadne Douglas is a graduate student and communications professional based in Toronto, Canada. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies, specializing in Egyptology, where her work focuses on textual material, funerary practice, and the political and social structures of the ancient Nile Valley. Professionally, Ariadne has held roles that reflect her strengths in operations, academic support, and public‑facing communication. As a Student Library Clerk at the University of Toronto’s John M. Kelly Library, she supported circulation services, assisted patrons with research tools and Library of Congress classification, and maintained collection organization across multiple library systems. In her role as an OCAS‑Customer Service Assistant, she provided front‑line academic administration support, guided students through application and enrollment processes, and managed high‑volume inquiries with clarity and care; experience that strengthened her ability to communicate complex information accessibly and empathetically.
At the University of Toronto, Ariadne has been an active contributor to campus life. As Co‑Director of Operations for Women in International Security UofT, she led a campus‑wide collaboration with The Period Purse, organizing a donation initiative to support menstrual equity and raise awareness about period poverty. She coordinated logistics and outreach, demonstrating her commitment to community‑based advocacy and equitable access to essential care. She also served as an Editor for the Near & Middle Eastern Studies Journal, developing strong academic editing and project management skills.
