Leticia Benso is an electrical engineer with a PhD in energy poverty and social tariffs for electricity and specializes in electricity systems and the economics of the energy sector. Throughout her career, she has accumulated experience in energy generation, transmission and distribution consultancy, renewable energies, with a special focus on new technologies and the energy transition. Leticia has also coordinated gender and diversity activities in the electricity sector, promoting progress with Brazilian partners.
She has contributed to Brazil's Ministry of Mines and Energy, where she worked as a technical advisor and energy information coordinator, participating in the development of national energy plans and in the integration of international renewable energy policies. Leticia is blazing a trail as the first volunteer for WiRE Brazil. She's committed to establishing a thriving chapter that will empower women in Brazil's dynamic energy sector and advance WiRE's global impact.
