True equity in clean energy requires more than representation—it demands active allyship, inclusive policies, and leadership that breaks down systemic barriers.

The Inclusive Energy Allies Training (IEAT)—presented by Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) in partnership with Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) and Mischa Oak, 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion Specialist and supported by the Government of Ontario’s Women’s Economic Leadership & Legacy (WELL) Fund—is a 100% fully funded executive and management development initiative.

IEAT equips C-suite executives, directors, HR professionals, and managers with the strategic tools, insights, and framework needed to foster psychological safety, drive retention, and clear advancement pathways for Indigenous women, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, racialized staff, and other underrepresented talent.

Why Corporate Allyship Matters Now

Recruiting diverse talent is only half the battle—retaining it requires an inclusive culture. Grounded in Ontario energy sector data, IEAT equips organizations with practical tools to drive real change:

  • 100% Fully Funded ($0 Cost): Supported by the Ontario WELL Fund, eliminating financial barriers to executive leadership development.

  • Expert-Led Virtual Training: 4 modules delivered by Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) and 2SLGBTQ+ expert Mischa Oak, covering unconscious bias, intersectionality, retention, and Indigenous inclusion.

  • Strategic ESG & CSR Metrics: Delivers verifiable social equity data, leadership benchmarks, and actionable ESG reporting frameworks for boards and stakeholders.

  • Dismantle Retention Bottlenecks: Identifies systemic barriers causing turnover among Indigenous and equity-deserving professionals, clearing pathways to leadership.

  • Psychological Safety & Culturally Safe Policies: Establishes safe office and field site environments while integrating best practices for Indigenous ceremonial and cultural commitments.

  • Turnkey HR Toolkits & Policies: Provides plug-and-play HR policies, express briefs, and transparent promotion models to embed lasting inclusion practices.

  • Benchmark Diagnostic Data: Delivers anonymized, sector-wide survey insights from the IEAT Diversity Metrics Survey to benchmark culture and measure EDI progress.

  • Public Brand Recognition: Position your organization as a certified Inclusive Energy Leader across WiRE and provincial networks.

What the Training Includes

  • Sequential Cohort Modules: Interactive, high-impact sessions covering unconscious bias, Indigenous relations including talent attraction and retention, intersectionality, queer identity inclusion, and barriers to career advancement.
