EV EDUCATION & TEST DRIVE

When:  Monday, September 11, 2023, 9:30 am – 12:00 pm

Where:  BCIT Burnaby Campus – 3700 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, B.C. Building NE-18

Cost: Free! 

Parking: Paid parking is available in visitor parking lots. Plenty of EV charging available in the (NW4) Health Sciences underground parking lot. Public transportation is always a great option too!

Are you thinking about a future in the electric vehicle (EV) industry or just curious about EVs and how they can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and save you money? Do you want to experience the thrill of driving an EV and learn more about the latest technologies and innovations in the field? If so, please join us at BCIT for this exciting EV event, brought to you by Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), Plug’n Drive, and BCIT.

What:  

  • TOUR of BCIT Automotive and EV lab

  • SHOWCASE of BCIT’s solar technologies and how they feed their EV chargers AND put energy back in the grid!

  • PRESENTATION on EVs and career opportunities 

  • TEST DRIVE in some of the latest makes and models.

Take advantage of this opportunity to tour BCIT’s automotive training facility and see where tomorrow’s technicians develop the skills to diagnose, service and repair high-voltage electric vehicles in our EV lab. EV batteries, motors, inverters and other components that constitute EVs will be displayed. Additionally, learn more about the benefits and challenges of electric mobility from experts in the industry.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in electric mobility, please register using the link below. If you want to test drive an EV, you will need to be 21 or older with a valid driver’s license. The event will be a great chance for you to network with other like-minded people, learn from professionals, and have a blast driving an electric car.
