Empowering the Next Generation: WiRE Azerbaijan Partners with Gender Hub to Train Young Women Leaders
BAKU, Azerbaijan - February 1, 2026 - WiRE Azerbaijan Chapter was invited to the Gender Hub Azerbaijan event, which hosted a three-day training program titled “Developing the Career and Leadership Potential of Young Women in the Renewable Energy Sector.” The program brought together ambitious young women seeking to strengthen their professional pathways and enhance their leadership capabilities within the rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape.
The program focused on equipping participants with essential career development tools, leadership skills, and sector-specific knowledge while fostering dialogue around women’s increasing role in the global energy transition. Throughout the training, participants gained deeper insights into renewable energy sources, their practical applications, and their strategic importance for sustainable development, while also exploring pathways for professional growth in the sector.

A key highlight of the program was the contribution of Aynur Mahmudova, WiRE Azerbaijan Chapter Leader, who participated as one of the invited speakers on the first day of the training on February 1, 2026. Representing Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE), Mahmudova’s participation underscored the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering women pursuing careers in renewable energy across Azerbaijan and beyond.
During her session, Mahmudova delivered a comprehensive presentation on renewable energy terminology, introducing key industry concepts in alphabetical order to help participants build a structured understanding of commonly used technical language in the field. Her session provided participants with a strong foundational vocabulary necessary for engaging confidently in professional discussions within the renewable energy sector.
