Director / Manager - Project Development
(role / title commensurate with experience)
Accountable for leading project teams and project development through all stages of development, from the conceptual stage to the hand-off to the execution team for construction.
Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas
Leading the following initiatives:
Assessing feasibility of early-stage projects
Developing and implementing project plans
Community outreach and other stakeholder management activities
Working closely with indigenous partners
Working closely with local planning departments
Leading land acquisition efforts
Conducting market, regulatory, and other related project research
Managing environmental studies
Obtaining permits for projects at the local, provincial, and federal level where applicable
Securing transmission and interconnection rights from utilities and transmission providers
Engineering and construction planning activities
Securing a strategic partner for a long-term off-take agreement
Financial modelling and project financing support
Accountable for identifying and mitigating risks as they relate to the projects under development
Assist in negotiating various commercial contracts, such as Power Purchase Agreements and Supply Agreements
Preparing requests for proposal submissions
Developing, implementing, and updating project management tools
Qualifications
10+ years in power sector project development desired, but not required.
P.Eng certification desired, but not required.
Commitment / Workload Reporting Relationships & Interactions
Works full-time hours as necessary to perform all tasks under this role.
Hybrid work environment: combination of working at NRStor’s office in Toronto, ON and working remotely.
Works with all NRStor employees.
