Welcome to Your Next Chapter in Clean Energy

The Career Ascent Program (CAP)—presented by Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) in partnership with Electricity Human Resources Canada (EHRC) and Mischa Oak, 2SLGBTQIA+ Inclusion Specialist, facilitated by Tanna Pirie, Indigenous Clean Energy Advisor & Mentor, and supported by the Government of Ontario’s Women’s Economic Leadership & Legacy (WELL) Fund—is a 100% fully funded, high-impact leadership development initiative.

Designed specifically for Indigenous women, racialized women, 2SLGBTQ+ individuals, women with disabilities, newcomer women, and underrepresented professionals across Ontario’s clean energy, power, and sustainable technology sectors, CAP provides the tools, sponsorship, and network needed to break systemic barriers and advance into senior and executive roles.

Why Join the Career Ascent Program?

The transition to a clean energy future requires diverse perspectives and transformative leadership. CAP is designed to accelerate your career while fostering an inclusive community of practice.

  • Structured Virtual Sessions & 1-on-1 Mentorship Match: Features virtual sessions led by CAP facilitator Tanna Pirie, plus a dedicated 1-on-1 session matched directly with a senior Ontario energy leader for tailored executive alignment and mentorship.

  • Culturally Grounded Executive Curriculum: Focuses on executive presence, strategic influence, corporate board readiness, and contract negotiation. Co-designed with Indigenous perspectives, the program builds an inclusive peer network across Ontario’s clean energy ecosystem.

  • Wraparound Participant Supports: Provides direct financial support, such as ad-hoc childcare stipends during workshop hours, to remove barriers to participation.

  • High-Value Networking: Connect with a supportive network of peers across Ontario’s clean energy ecosystem.

  • Feature Profile: Elevate your presence in the sector with a spotlight on the Women in Renewable Energy (WiRE) website, which will be promoted throughout WiRE’s 30,000+ network.

  • 100% Fully Funded: Supported by the Ontario WELL Fund, there is zero cost to participants.
